 Cenla Medication Access Program (CMAP)
The Cenla Medication Access Program (CMAP), based in Alexandria, Louisiana, was established in 2001 and provides chronic care prescription medications for people who cannot afford them. CMAP is funded by The Rapides Foundation.

Goal:
CMAP’s goal is to ensure appropriate medication access and education, and also promote other preventive health practices among residents with limited incomes.

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Client must reside in Louisiana
  • Income must be at or below 200% Federal Poverty Level
  • Client must not have any prescription coverage - Insurance, Medicaid or Medicare
  • Client must be over 18 years of age
How the Program Works:
CMAP obtains donated medications through the patient assistance programs offered by the pharmaceutical companies. Our full-time patient assistance program specialists network with over 200 local physicians.
  
 Mobile Digital Mammography

CMAP is pleased to announce the arrival of mobile digital mammography in Central Louisiana through funding provided by The Rapides Foundation and a partnership with Partners in Wellness/Feist-Weiller Cancer Center of LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport.

Breast, cervical and colorectal cancer screening services are available on the mobile unit for qualified individuals.

  • Women ages 40-64 - Pap test, pelvic exam, clinical breast exam, digital mammography
  • Women ages 50-64 - all of above including colorectal cancer screening
  • Men ages 50-64 - colorectal cancer screening

The mobile unit will travel throughout Allen, Avoyelles, Catahoula, Grant, LaSalle, Natchitoches, Rapides, Vernon, and Winn parishes providing these services to individuals who meet the age requirement, have no medical insurance, and a household income at or below 250% of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines.
