November Challenge: 30 days of Thanks and Planks

November Challenge: 30 days of Thanks and Planks

November Calendar has focus on National Diabetes Month

Join The Rapides Foundation's Get Healthy Cenla Challenge, a daily challenge designed to encourage people to improve their nutrition and physical activity. Our goal is for everyone to eat five or more servings of fruits and vegetables a day, and get at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity a day, five days a week.

November's focus is the "Thanks and Planks Challenge." Planks strengthen your core by engaging multiple muscle groups at the same time. Benefits of doing planks for 30 days include a tighter tummy, improved posture, flexibility and balance, a stronger core, and less back pain. Click here to see a demonstration of how to do a plank. Focus on giving "Thanks" during November by creating an attitude of gratitude by writing down something you are thankful for each day.

The calendar also has a focus on National Diabetes Month. Making small changes in daily habits can help lower risk & prevent type 2 diabetes. Change can be hard, but the challenge calendar provides tons of ideas to start making healthier habits.
