October Challenge Calendar Encourages Eating Healthy as a Family

October Challenge Calendar Encourages Eating Healthy as a Family

Use daily challenges to meet your fitness, nutrition goals

Join The Rapides Foundation's Get Healthy Cenla Challenge, a daily challenge designed to encourage people to improve their nutrition and physical activity. Our goal is for everyone to eat five or more servings of fruits and vegetables a day, and get at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity a day, five days a week.

October is National Eat Together, Eat Better Month. Research shows that eating meals together teaches kids healthier eating habits, improves social skills, creates stronger family communication, and can reduce risky behaviors in kids. When coworkers spend time together over a meal, morale can improve, making for a healthier work environment. The October Challenge Calendar offers ways to get the family involved in meal time as well as healthy meal tips.

Check out the Weekend Football Challenge, which includes exercises you can do while watching your favorite teams. The challenge exercises are for every game you watch. Don't forget Monday night games too!
